Cats frequently suffer from diverse dermatological problems. Many of these are difficult to diagnose, because the different pathogens can cause very similar looking symptoms. Many systemic diseases can also cause dermatological symptoms, which makes properly diagnosing them even more difficult. Cats frequently have itchy skin caused by allergies, which isn’t always visible, since some cats like to scratch and lick themselves while hiding away. For these reasons diagnosing and treating dermatological problems can have various methods, including special diets, skin scraping or other diagnostic sample taking.
